Dear Bob,
 Summer
is over as soon as Labor Day passes. Whew! Everything has been
hot but the economy. Nearly three quarters of the year is gone too, gone
to pieces. The news is that things are going up, as in taxes,
regulations and unemployment, nothing that is conducive to building
confidence or investing. Mother said if you have nothing nice to
say, say nothing, so I won't, but I have figured out what the problem
is! The fault has been mine all along. I DID NOT HAVE THE BIG
PICTURE. I was thinking like how Gamka's business and my household
finances run. I never realized that you can spend yourself into
prosperity if you are the Government. Drop a trillion bucks and you
just have to wait for the jobs to pour in, the stocks to rise, the
manufacturing to return and "Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez", Let
the Good Times Roll, as was often heard in New Orleans and
Louisiana, before Katrina and the oil spill. Oh wait, they did that and
we are still waiting. Who will be brave enough to tell the King he
has no clothes, before he doubles down? My only request is,
"Please don't help us any more!" November 2nd is our chance
to show what WE mean by the BIG PICTURE and I think that taxation WITH
representation is long overdue, don't you? Make certain you
are registered to cast your vote and that you spread the word to others.
The hope and change we want is not the Hope and Change we got, is it? Be
sure that you make yourself heard, loud and clear. The way the Courts
are going we may not have that privilege very long either. While
you are at it, think about Term Limits. Our Founding Fathers, the ones
who wrote our Constitution, never envisioned career politicians. They
figured Senators and Representatives would serve a term or two in public
service and then go back to their real jobs. If Term Limits is beyond
our grasp right now, how about eliminating the lifetime pensions and
perks? Sure, let them have health benefits and maybe a 401K, like us
ordinary folks, while they are on the Government teat, but cut them off
when they leave, as it is out here in the private sector. Oh well, I can dream, can't I? At the very least, vote! I will mention it again, you can be sure. Sincerely,
Bob Hibler, Newsletter Editor Czar

Injecting Integrity into Sanitary and Storm Water Systems
 With
money so tight, extending the lifecycle of our Public Works Sanitary
and Storm Water Systems infrastructure in these times is being embraced
as a necessity by many municipalities. Non-Structural manhole
restoration is gaining the attention of government agencies and
taxpayers alike. For contractors and suppliers like ourselves, it is an
opportunity as well. Prime Resins is on a mission to seal leaks,
stabilize soils, protect and preserve concrete structures because it's
the smart thing to do. The cost to replace is easily 10 times
greater than the cost to restore. Factoring time, disruption and
return on effort, Prime Resins makes dollars and sense 9 times out of
10. Recently Prime Resins hosted a live learning event, in
webinar format, on the subject of Manhole Restoration. It was well
attended but not all who wished to do so made it. For the individuals
that missed, it was recorded and can be viewed at the convenience of
those interested. Here's a link to the recorded event, a resource
available to you for reference for a full year:

To Fight or Not to Fight: Workplace Fires
Workplace fires are very dangerous...and though it may be your
first reaction to try to fight a fire, you need to make sure you only
fight first in line with your training and when you have all the
information you need to make a good (though quick) decision. 1)
Never fight a fire if you don't know what's burning--- If you don't
know what's burning, you don't know what type of extinguisher to use.
Even if you have an ABC extinguisher, there may be something in the fire
that could explode or produce highly toxic smoke; 2)
Never fight a fire if the fire is spreading beyond the spot where it
started--- The time to use an extinguisher is in the beginning stages of
a fire. If the fire is already spreading quickly, it is best to simply
evacuate the building, closing doors and windows behind you as you
leave; 3) Never fight a fire if you don't
have adequate or appropriate equipment--- If you don't have the correct
type or a large enough extinguisher, it is best not to try to fight the
fire; 4) Never fight a fire if you might
inhale toxic smoke--- If the fire is producing large amounts of smoke
you would have to breathe in order to fight it, it is best not to try.
Gases from man-made materials can be fatal in very small amounts; 5)
Never fight a fire if your instinct tells you not to fight it--- If you
are uncomfortable with the situation for any reason, just let the fire
department do their job; 6) The final rule is
to always position yourself with an exit or means of escape at your
back before you attempt to use an extinguisher to put out a fire. Don't be a dead hero!
